David Bonvin was born in Valais in Switzerland. He discovered his passion for music at an early age.
At the age of 5, David began to play the cornet under the guidance of his father. From 2000 until 2005 he studied at the conservatory in Sion. In 2006, he started having trumpet lessons with David Rodeschini and received the diploma for trumpet at the Institut de Ribaupierre" in Lausanne in 2008. Two years later, he received a Bachelor of arts in Music de trompette" at the HEMU in Lausanne under the well known trumpet player Olivier Anthony Theurillat.
In 2012, David received a Master of arts in Music Pedagagy de trompette" and has been studying ever since at the HEMU in Fribourg for the a Master of arts in Music Perfermance de trompette".
David Bonvin has played as a soloist in the following first class Brass Bands:
Brass Band 13 Etoiles, Brass Band Junior Valaisan, Oberwalliser Brass Band, Orchester HEMU Lausaunne, Chamber Wind Orchestra Lausanne. In addition he has the a diploma from HEMU Lausanne in “Professionnel de direction d'orchestres" having taken classes under Pascal Favre (Director) und William Blank (Orchestra)
